CUMNOCK ILLUSTRATED ALphabet

An illustrated ABC, devised by co-operative organisation People’s Parish to gather local stories and encourage pride and participation in community life.

The project celebrates the Scottish town of Cumnock through its buildings, monuments and industries, all chosen by residents. The illustration hones in on architectural details and quirks that shape the local identity, formed by a rich history of coal mining, ironwork and ceramics. Cumnock is now home to the UK’s largest manufacturer of fire-fighting vehicles.
